The
environmental argument
Through
the reduction of the thermal energy requirements by 90% to below 15 kWh/m²a
(Kilowatt hours per square meter and year), conventional energy sources,
especially fossil fuels will become dispensable. The use of alternative
energy systems such as geothermal collectors, heat exchangers, and solar
energy avoid the dangerous emissions generated by the traditional oil
supplied to single family homes, which release an average of 8000 tons
yearly of environmentally harmful Co2. The environmental aspects are strongly
emphasized through the use of recycled building materials and the possibility
of recycling the building itself. The use of rainwater is also an aspect,
considering a scenario where maybe in the foreseeable future; water will
become a most valuable asset on this earth.
